Building a network and support group to effectively manage your addiction is important because it will help take your through the process of transformation with ease. Below is a list of some of the benefits such a group.

You will be able to open up with ease and share your story with the members available in the gathering. When you open up fully, you will realize how much destructive being an addict is. You will also be able to know how much pain being an addict can cause you and how much damage it is to health, finance, family and relationships.



Once you open up, it should be easy to explain to the members of the group what exactly the problem is. For instance, you could be an alcohol addict because you think that drinking too much is the only solution to relieve stress in your life or you may argue too much with someone you love because you think that that is the only way to solve a problem at hand. Identifying your problem early enough will help you in the next step of knowing your craving.

Once you know what the problem is, it should be easy to identify some cravings that makes you an addict. Your craving is something you find yourself doing regularly, even when you know it is not the right thing to do. For example, you addiction to porn could be because you always crave to see nude women live or on the internet. It could be anything really, but identifying the craving is the first step to deliverance.

The support group is the only place in which you will find individuals who have been through the issue and state. When you listen to people talk about being addicts and how much damage that caused them, you get to know clearly that you are not alone. You will get to know that someone out there was in the same position as you are right now but decided that they were going to be different by making a change in their lives.

Once you listen to people who have stories similar to yours, you will be able to develop a desire for a change. When you desire to change, it means that you have made the decision that you do not want to be an addict anymore. You have made a decision that you want to become a better person in the society, someone who is better than who you were.

You are able to find unlimited alternatives to addiction. People in the group will help you create a list of activities you can engage in, especially at the time you feel like going back to the same habit. This will help you recover from addiction with ease.

After a few months, you will have a new life. Do not leave other members unless you are so sure you can cope. Stick with the members until you are completely free from the bondage of addiction.
