It will take you less than a couple seconds to head online and find spewing negativism. The news, the posts we see, the comments we read. It's all there. The internet has become an acceptable turf for those that wish to hide behind a keyboard and write whatever they desire about somebody. They can criticize, spread filth, and in many cases take things to a whole new degree. A degree that only promotes hate.
Hate breeds more hate.
If you have truly ever felt it within, you know exactly what I am talking about. When you house hate in your heart, you start hating other things too. While the internet is one out of very many methods folks can deliver hate with, it does function as a pretty clear example of how things are going in our world today. We have created a system in which hate has the ultimate protection. Being able to hide behind a user-name which virtually guarantees that the comments themselves will never see the forces of accountability for its actions.
In face of this just about overwhelming raging stream of hate, we need to press on.
Why?
Because we should promote what we adore rather than striking out at what we abhor.
I'm really not delusional about the world. I am not that slightly off guy on the news who is hilariously known in his neighborhood for being Mr. Contented literally 24/7. That sort of unbalanced one-way lifestyle isn't healthy for you. I have my awful days. I have days where I find myself in a conflict between love and hate, approval and closing down, and these are days when I am going to battle. These are days when I'm reminded of what I really believe in. Irrespective of how hard it can be.
The dose the world needs, in a unceasing drip, is encouragement.
People need to be encouraged for what they are doing, for failing and trying again, for giving a great effort and moving forward. It isn't about removing hate from the world, it's about balancing it out with acts of love. The world, similar to ourselves, can get out of balance and thrown off now and then. Folks will really start to see the worst of everything because frankly, that is what we are shown. We are continually subjected to the bad stuff. Turn on the TV. Car crashes, 10 dead at college shooting, riots, disruption in countries all around the planet, massive coverups, violations of privacy, oil spills and nuclear meltdowns. With all this, small wonder we have got a gloomy view of what is happening.
I believe that a steady drip of love and incentive can change lives. It changed mine, so why can it not change others?
The ripple effect you can have on the world is way beyond your comprehension. Hell, I don't even know. But I have deep faith it is happening. You can turn someones day around in a second.
Inspire those around you. You might not agree with the exact way in how they are doing it, but do not step on them for it. People really need to learn their way. Often we've developed the best intentions when making an attempt to help others, but at the end, everyone has their own journey to stroll. Walk with them, don't try to take the rug out from under them.
True encouragement matters.
