You Can't Yank A Flower To Make It Grow Quicker

By Evan Sanders

There's an old truism that I really love. It says something like - you can not yank on a flower to make it grow quicker.

How incredible is that?

Developing true patience must be one of the most challenging things in the world. But without patience, we do not give ourselves the real opportunity to see things totally through. Furthermore, there are numerous things in this world that call for our patience and will only develop when we actually bring it into our lives. Perhaps there's incomplete business we've got with somebody or we are just giving something the time and space to grow and develop. Think of your dreams. Often, our dreams don't actually happen because we aren't yet the individual that can actually attain them. In fact , that's about always the case. We don't get what we'd like so we can grow into the individual we absolutely need to be to accomplish our biggest desires.

Patience is the key to allowing our future to unfold in front of us without our projections onto it. Patience, is the power to stay absolutely present in the time given to us while not trying to live forward.

This is hard. Really hard.

Most of the time we want to make things turn out precisely in the way in which we see them in our mind. The only difficulty with this is that we are attempting to control a time and place that really is truly uncontrollable. Often, the future unfolds in completely different methods than what we were expecting. This isn't always inevitably a unpleasant thing though. Rather, this is often a decisive gift giving us what we really needed in our lives instead of what we wanted. Wouldn't you rather just live in that place - a place of complete possibility and opportunity?

When we let go of what we think should happen, we allow for life to truly surprise us.

Develop some patience. Everything will come to you in the best time.
