You were just given what sounds like the worst news of your life,
and you panic... blood starts rushing from your head down to your toes,
and you immediately start to sweat and turn pale. You start to think,
oh my god, my life is over! I have nothing too live for any more.
Meanwhile, you have a family at home waiting for you, children that love
you, and a job that you are great at. You get home slam your bedroom
door and start crying. Sound familiar? We all have our bad moments; we
get sick; we lose a job; we get into a fight with our spouse, and BAM
our negative subconscious kicks into high gear and immediately allows us
to think that our life is over. We start thinking, "I am sick, My life
is over!" "I can't believe he/she left me, I will never meet anyone
again!" "I lost my job, I am not going to be able to provide for my
family or myself!" This is the most negative thinking imaginable, and
will only lead you down an even darker path if you continue to let it.
There is a way out though... and that is through gratitude. By allowing gratitude to enter your heart you will give yourself the room you need to recover and move forward. Be thankful for the experiences and take each one as a learning experience, but most of all show yourself love, because the more love you show yourself during tough times, the easier it will be to channel gratitude. Let your love flow, and your heart will grow, creating the grateful heart that will pull you through any situation.
I was talking to a young women the other day who was newly diagnosed with breast cancer, and she had this mentality. She told me how she didn't have anything to live for anymore, and how her life was not going to take her anywhere. She then went on to tell me about her daughter, and I told her that even during tough times there is always a rainbow waiting for us. be grateful for what you have, and for who you are and with that intention in place you can go anywhere. When I tell people to be bold, be beautiful, be you. I am telling them to embrace who they are wholehearted, and search deep inside for the good in themselves and their situations, while also ridding themselves of their limiting beliefs. That is where you will find the answers.
